With kids currently obsessed with delving into virtual reality from the comfort of their own home, prices are beginning to come down on many of the top-brand headsets as tech firms try and tempt shoppers.
The trend has blown up massively this year from VR birthday parties and events to DIY gaming nights at home. Now, in Amazon‘s Spring Deal Days reductions, the Meta Quest 2 is 20% off taking it down to just £199 – even cheaper than Black Friday.
My son Tyler, now that he is old enough to be scanning the endless, enticing shopping deals online (I know because he sends me constant links and hints all the time of things to spend his pocket money on), has been sharing his thoughts on what deals he thinks are worth looking at.
The Meta Quest 2 has a massive £50 saving available on Amazon at the moment, and not only does my boy assure you it’s a great purchase but I totally agree. As a family we have loved having the Meta Quest 2, it’s meant we spend more time of us all chilling and taking turns playing together, which is now very rare with an 11 year old.

Reduced to a much more affordable £199, the Meta Quest will be a great surprise for the older kids especially those who are no longer sat playing with toys.

When asked what he likes most about the VR my son explains: “We have so much fun when we play this at my mum’s, my dad’s and my cousins’ house. We have had loads of gaming nights where we all take turns on rollercoasters, sports and Roblox which is my favourite. It’s definitely the best present I’ve ever had after my X Box and other kids would love it too. There aren’t many of my friends who don’t want one or already have one, they are still so popular.
“This year I’ve asked my mum and dad for the War of Wizards game on my VR. This is a really good new game that me and my friends can’t wait to play where we will literally go into magical battles – it looks class!”
And with that, I got straight to finding the game and how on earth I download War of Wizards onto his Meta Quest Tyler and I both agree that, the only issue we have EVER had with the Meta Quest 2 is the strap, with my partner and I constantly up and down tightening the head straps (especially on smaller heads where the front of the VR weighs down quite heavily).
