England are preparing for their first of two friendly matches this evening (Monday, June 3) as the nation readies itself for the 2024 European Championship. Gareth Southgate’s squad will face Bosnia-Herzegovina at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm.
With less than a week to finalise his selection, Gareth Southgate will use tonight’s match and Friday’s friendly against Iceland to assess his players before announcing the final 26-man squad for the Euros. Following this week’s friendlies, England will head to Germany where they will take on Serbia in their opening group game on June 16.
The team is currently tipped as favourites to clinch the tournament, ahead of the likes of France and Germany. England boast some immense young talent including Premier League winner Phil Foden and Champions League winner Jude Bellingham, who lifted the coveted European trophy with Real Madrid on Saturday.
