Throughout the PSQM programme, science has been firmly placed at the heart of school life, raising its profile across the entire Cavendish community.

This renewed focus has already made a measurable impact – and will continue to shape the school’s development for years to come.

One of the most exciting outcomes has been the expansion of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) club provision, enabling more pupils to take part in hands‑on enrichment opportunities that spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a genuine enjoyment of science beyond the classroom.

The award has also strengthened professional collaboration among staff.

Teachers have attended the Association for Science Education (ASE) Conference, engaged in a rich programme of CPD events and webinars, and joined the North London Science Leaders Network.

Regular meetings between key stages now provide a dedicated space to discuss enquiry, assessment and curriculum development, ensuring a consistent and high‑quality approach to science teaching.

These professional opportunities have brought outstanding new resources and practical ideas into the school, many of which are already embedded in classrooms.

As part of the PSQM process, The Cavendish School has refined its science curriculum and enhanced assessment practices, ensuring clear progression and high expectations for all learners.

Looking ahead, the school plans to continue involving families and the wider community through partnership events, STEAM week (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and whole‑school science activities.

Overall, achieving the PSQM mark has helped to grow science capital across the school and given teachers greater confidence in planning, teaching and assessing science effectively.

The Cavendish School is proud of this achievement and excited to build on this strong foundation in the years to come.
