The bakery – whose name means ‘friends’ – opened its first outside the French capital in Neal Street, Covent Garden in late November drawing queues around the block.
Now their second store will move into the site occupied by fashion brand Toast.
The brand prides itself on using organic flours, backing sustainable farming and homemade products which avoid wheat flour.
The stores are also designed with the gluten-free breads, cakes, sandwiches and pastries laid out like a luxury store, and the orange and woody scent of Odalisque perfume wafting through the space.
Bakes include the likes of pistachio babka cake, chocolate praline financier, matcha cookie and gluten-free lemon poppy seed while the pastries include orange blossom brioche and chocolate madeleine.
On their website they introduce friends and co-founders Giovanni and Baptiste who have a background in luxury retail and “are passionate about enjoyable and healthy food”.
The website adds: “Copains is a gourmet culinary journey, part of a comprehensive approach to healthy eating and committed to an eco-responsible project.
“At the heart of our concerns, Copains can rely on high-quality cuisine and rich human experiences. With its disruptive, Mediterranean-inspired outlets, Copains is shaking up the traditional bakery and pastry industry to build a lasting relationship with you.”
