An education trust with academies up and down the country is celebrating a host of fantastic achievements across its network this summer, including a number of its academies in the London and Buckinghamshire areas.

E-ACT is a multi-academy foundation with 29 academies across England, with six in the South East region alone, including E-ACT Braintcroft Academy, E-ACT Chalfont Valley, Academy, E-ACT Denham Green Academy, E-ACT Bourne End Academy, E-ACT Crest Academy, and E-ACT City Heights Academy.

As part of the trust, academies can share and access insights from their fellow institutions and colleagues, along with the valuable sense of being part of something bigger.

The TES Awards, which are known for recognizing outstanding achievements in education, chose E-ACT for its “transformational impact on students, staff and the wider community”.

The panel also praised the foundation’s holistic educational philosophy, which emphasizes academic success, well-being and personal development.

Tom Campbell, CEO of E-ACT, expressed immense pride in the team’s achievement, saying: “Winning the ‘Trust Team of the Year’ award is testament to the hard work and passion of all our staff. We believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where both students and staff can thrive.

“The E-ACT strategy is based on harnessing collective wisdom and developing a culture of mutual accountability. Collecting the award on behalf of our E-ACT family was a great honor.”

    Celebrating E-ACT colleagues

The awards aim to recognize the incredible efforts, hard work and dedication of E-ACT colleagues across the country.

Hosted by author, presenter and comedian Lucy Porter at Dulwich College, there were over 500 scintillating nominations, making the process of choosing winners an extremely difficult one.

Inevitably, there were colleagues who came out on top – including two from E-ACT’s London-based academies.

Andrea Rosewell of E-ACT Braintcroft Academy was awarded ‘Headteacher Primary’, and Mame Appah of E-ACT Crest Academy was recognized for ‘Inclusion and Advocacy’.

Other winners at the Staff Impact Awards were Sharan Kundi for the ‘Operations’ award, while Sharon Connerty from E-ACT DSLV Academy took home the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award – presented to her by Lord Jim Knight, E-ACT Chairman.

Even more than the awards, however, the evening was a joyous celebration of all E-ACT colleagues and nominees, in recognition of all they do to give children a good start in life and achieve their full potential.

This was echoed by E-ACT chief executive Tom Campbell who said: “The evening was not just about the awards; it is a celebration of our collective spirit and the incredible impact we have when we put our people first.

“Each nominee has contributed to making E-ACT an outstanding place of learning, and I am extremely proud of all our staff.”

National recognition for an outstanding local leader

In addition to her win at the Staff Impact Awards, Andrea Rosewell’s achievements at E-ACT Braintcroft Academy were honored with a silver prize in “Principal of the Year” category at the Pearson National Teaching Awards 2024.

She also got a well-deserved place in shortlist for the same category at the TES Schools Awards earlier this year.

Andrea Rosewell said: “It’s a real honor to have been nominated for these two national awards. But whilst it’s great to personally receive external recognition, it’s very much a whole team effort at Braintcroft and we couldn’t achieve what we do here without everyone working together to do the very best for our students.

“I feel incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing team here at Braintcroft and throughout E-ACT. Teaching is a real privilege and being able to impact young people’s lives in a positive and meaningful way will always be a great profit.”

Become part of a trust that goes places

Having recently been recognized at various prestigious awards, it is undoubtedly a very exciting time to be joining E-ACT.

The Foundation prides itself on delivering a high-quality teaching and learning experience, while promoting a people-first culture for all students, staff and stakeholders.

E-ACT’s “Opening Minds, Opening Doors” approach is also at the forefront of everything it does, aiming to equip students with the tools to thrive and succeed in both an academic setting and the real world beyond.

If you want to be part of an award-winning trust that constantly strives for excellence, there are currently a number of vacancies available across E-ACT’s 29 academies.

This includes a class teacher position at E-ACT Chalfont Valley Primary Academy, physical education teacher and exam supervisor at E-ACT Bourne End Academy, and even one regional painter.
