Apple has unveiled two new iPad models this week, the glossy new iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets. But these sleek gadgets come with a hefty price tag starting from £599 and £999 depending on the screen size you fancy – and if you’re eyeing the 13-inch versions, be ready to fork out £799 or £1,299.
If you’re not up for paying a lump sum upfront for an iPad, you can choose to purchase one on contract and pay a monthly fee instead. The deals from Sky that make the new iPads appear much more affordable than their usual price tags, as highlighted by The Mirror.
Sky is offering the 128GB 11-inch iPad Air for £17 per month with no upfront cost, a sum you hopefully won’t mind parting with every 30 days. Sky is throwing in 100MB of data so you can check your emails and surf the web away from Wi-Fi.

Over the 48-month contract, this totals to £816. It’s worth noting that this is significantly more than the £599 asking price – though as you’re getting data services, you’re getting the £749 RPP cellular version of the iPad Air, which makes it seem like a better deal overall.
Bear in mind, 100MB is not a lot of data. When you go to purchase, you can add more data but it will increase your monthly fees. That said, if you’re connected to Wi-Fi most of the time, you might not need much at all.

If the new M2-powered Air doesn’t pack enough punch for your digital needs, Sky has also unveiled a pre-order deal on the latest iPad Pro. This high-end tablet now boasts the lightning-fast M4 processor, making it around 1.5 times speedier than its predecessor. The efficient new chip also ensures you’ll still get about 10 hours of battery life.
Available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, this device is now even easier to handle, with Apple claiming it’s the thinnest gadget they’ve ever produced. Another perk of this tablet is its enhanced OLED screen, offering brighter whites, deeper blacks, and more vibrant colours. It’s also compatible with the new Apple Pencil Pro, which now includes haptic feedback and improved controls for doodling on the screen.
The Pro starts from £999 when purchased directly from Apple. However, Sky has a deal that includes this premium device for £27 per month, with an added bonus of 100MB of free data. It’s also the cellular model, whic starts from £1,199.
This deal spans 48 months, with the total cost coming to £1,296 – be aware, that’s £297 more than the one-off fee via the Apple Store for the Wi-Fi only £999 model.
However, spreading the cost over four years and paying £27 per month does seem a bit more manageable. Other offers for the Pro include Vodafone’s £36 per month deal (which includes 1GB of data) and EE’s £67 monthly charge (for 5GB of data).
