Expect live cooking, flowing drinks and plenty of tunes
A new food and music festival is heading to London for one mega weekend this spring, organisers have announced. Sound Bites will take place at Syon Park, in the Brentford area of Hounslow, on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.
Headed up by the Taste of London and Big Feastival team, the two-day event promises plenty of live performances from known stars, emerging artists and tribute acts. The line-up so far includes Friday night DJ sets from Faithless and Sister Bliss, Denise Van Outen, Leigh Francis’ Record Club and former Love Island host Laura Whitmore.
Saturday will then see The Hoosiers and Ricky Wilson take to the stage, with special guests Gary Stringer, from rock band Reef, Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton and Simon Flower of Ocean Colour Scene. More acts are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
Guests will also enjoy live fire cooking and pop-up restaurants, serving the likes of Michelin-level Indian food, pub-style British classics and street food. There will be plenty of bars too, with everything from craft beer to no alcohol options.
The newly-announced festival has been created in partnership with Children with Cancer UK to help raise vital funds for the charity. As part of this, children affected by childhood cancer will be interviewing celebrity guests from the world of sport, TV, literature such as Paula Radcliffe on the Heroes Stage.
Chris Hughes, co-founder of Sound Bites, said: “Syon Park is an incredible venue to kick off our new era of food and music parties, and to be supporting a fantastic charity like Children with Cancer UK is extra special. Sound Bites builds on everything we’ve achieved creating some of the UK’s biggest food and music events but will offer new ways to party and new ways to explore great tastes with friends and family.”
