It’s already starting to feel warmer, with spring getting ever closer. This is always very exciting to me, as it’s an excuse to update my wardrobe for the summer season.
The spring and summer are also the time when the wedding invitations always start to pile up. But finding dresses for each event can be both challenging and expensive.
But New Look’s new sale seems to be the perfect solution. These dresses are both pretty and very affordable, making them a great option for summer events.

The first dress to catch my eye was the Yellow Floral Halter Split Hem Midi Dress, which is just £25 in the sale, saving £7. This mid-length dress is yellow, with a pink floral design all over.
The halterneck top adds a sophisticated look which will show off a gorgeous summer tan, while the flowing cut is flattering on all body types, and will keep you cool during the hot summer months. The reviews for the dress are also glowing, with an average rating of 4.4 stars.
One reviewer said: “Lovely dress, material quite thin but perfect for summer and fits lovely – bought for a summer wedding.” Another wrote: “Beautiful colours bought for summer evenings and for holiday.” One reviewer, though, said: “Very small fitting where the zip is but big everywhere else.”
A jumpsuit was the second item that I put straight in my basket, which is currently on sale for just £26, down from £37.99. The Green Floral Sleeveless Belted Wide Leg Jumpsuit has a delicate floral print on a green base, and is made from a lightweight fabric perfect for a hot summer holiday evening.
People love this jumpsuit too, saying it’s great for people who normally struggle with the style. A reviewer wrote: “It’s absolutely perfect! I have a high waist and am quite busty and so usually steer clear of jumpsuit type outfits but tried this on a whim and wow – loved it! Cool and comfy and flattering!” However one reviewer had an issue, saying: “I loved it. But the armholes are huge. Who has armpits that big?! It shows the whole side of my bra making it unwearable.”
This Blue Spot Lemon V Neck Ruffle Midaxi Slip Dress also looked like a great option for a dress to take on holiday this summer. It’s been discounted 23 percent to just £23 and is ‘made for sunshine days’ according to the product description.
The blue dress stops just above the ankle and is a gorgeous shade of blue, and features an adorable lemon and spot print. It has a ruffled neckline, and reviewers love it, saying: “Lovely soft material nice colour cool dress to wear in the summer”.
