The Mountain Warehouse Men’s Padded Jacketis said to provide “excellent heat retention” and comfort, and is a a synthetic alternative to down insulation. The jackets are also water resistant, coated with durable water repellent, meaning any droplets will bead and roll off the fabric.

The Mountain Warehouse Men’s Padded Jacket is rated 4.4 out of 5 on Amazon. It in an Amazon’s Choice product and is also the site’s third best-seller among men’s outerwear, with over 500 purchases in the last month. Among reviewers, 68 per cent have awarded it 5 out of 5 stars.
One pleased buyer wrote: “I bought this as a lightweight but warm winter coat. It’s very lightweight and pretty warm. I’ve not worn it in heavy rain and I don’t think it’s designed for that, however it’s ok in a light shower. I really like the jacket and it’s now my go-to for winter. I expect it would be good for spring and autumn too and you could get away with something like a t shirt underneath.”
Another posted: “Just perfect. Really comfortable and lightweight yet warm. Good fit, looks nice. My other half won’t take it off now.”
But not everyone was 100 per cent sold on it. One person wrote: “Not bad for the money and it fits and is warm etc. It lacks a few practical features that would have upped its rating, like pockets with zips and a hood that fits a normal sized cranium (it is too big). Also, it lacks the WOW factor but you get what you paid for.”
