Amazon has slashed the price of a massive 2kg Quality Street box in its Easter spring sale. The giant box, originally priced at £25.99, is now just £21.95, which works out to be 98p per 100 grams.
This deal is cheaper than Tesco’s offer, where they’re selling 220g boxes for £3.50 (£1.59 per 100g). It also outclasses Ocado’s Quality Street Large Tin, which is selling for £12 and works out to £1.48 per 100g.
The huge box contains all the classic Quality Street sweets that have been loved since 1936, including milk choc block, orange creme, fudge, swirl, coconut eclair and coconut. Each sweet is individually wrapped in paper packaging and is suitable for vegetarians.
The huge 2kg boxof Quality Street has been a big hit on Amazon, getting a score of 4.6 out of 945 reviews. One person said: “Really great value, good variety of quality streets, just wish there would be more crunchy sweet ones, and less toffee sweets, but still great quality, quick delivery.”
Another added: “Not tried all the sweets yet but the ones I have, yes they are nice didn’t seem like there was a lot of toffee like you normally get in container. Just once they are open it sfinding something to keep them in so they don’t go hard, or bad. That’s the only gripe, 2 kilo 3 bags. Don’t know the math, surprised at size of the box, as bought 2 kilo bags of sweets on here and bigger than this. But if its 2 kilo then that what it is. Yeah nice candy. Xmas in March, better late than never.. Recommend…”
A third remarked: “Can’t complain, the selection favoured some more than others (unequal) but that was to be expected. There were still at least 5 of each and they had good quality taste.” A less pleased shopper wrote: “Definitely too expensive in my opinion, taste wise it was whatever. You get 3 bags inside the box and they are decently filled, maybe 1 of the bags is equal to the Quality Street tin’s you can get. Not too sure. I would recommend if you’re an avid lover of Quality Street.” Another added: “On the box advertised it has a box weight of 2.1K but when you get your product its under weight . Only 2K.”
Cadbury is offering a 2kg box of Heroes for £19.54 on Amazon, which includes favourites like Crunchy, Twirl and Creme Egg. This works out to 98p per 100g, compared to Tesco (£6 for 550g, which is £1.09 per 100g).
The box has received a 4.6 rating from 8,454 reviews. One happy shopper wrote: “This box of Heroes chocolates is excellent value and is much cheaper than buying the usual Christmas tin assortments. It is ideal for sharing with the family and has sweets to everyone’s taste.” A less happy person wrote: “Bought one of these and over 1/2 the box seems to be Creme Egg Twisted. No idea if this is just an unlucky box and there was an issue at the factory, but the corporate scumbag in me suspects it’s cause that’s a fairly cheap sweet to make. Anyways, not buying any more of these – I like ‘Twisted’ but by god does a sweet get old if it’s most of the selection.”
