A whole decade has passed since Pokémon GO first had us wandering around parks, streets and cities trying to catch every Pokémon character under the sun. To mark the milestone, Pokémon GO is celebrating with a Summer Quest that transforms Shoreditch into an interactive playground packed with challenges, rewards and huge prizes including a trip to Japan.
The Pokémon GO Summer Quest will take place around The Green at Boxpark from August 1-2 and August 8-9. All you have to do is open the Pokémon GO app within the event area between 10am and 11:59pm on either weekend to unlock the Timed Research, which will send you on a series of challenges around Shoreditch. Once you’ve unlocked it, you’ll have until August 31 to complete the rest of the missions at your own pace.
As a reward for completing the first stage of the Timed Research, you can head to the Pokémon GO pop-up coffee station, open from 10am–7pm on both weekends, where you’ll be able to claim a free coffee by showing a barista your progress. If you’re not in London, a nationwide UK Timed Research will also run from August 1 at 10:00 a.m. until August 9 at 11:59 p.m. local time.
And there’s even more up for grabs. Players who are aged 18 and over can enter a grand-prize draw for the chance to win a trip to Japan or tickets to Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe. To enter, simply share an Instagram post using #pokemongosummerquest by 11:59pm on August 31, 2026 and make sure your profile is set to public!
