Rick Harrison’s wild deals, problematic opinions and other shocking moments explained

Star Pawn Stars and expert trader Rick Harrison, known for his wild personality and witty lines. While the beloved collector has won fans over with his charisma and humor, Rick has shared some controversial opinions with the public. This North Carolinian is a proud conservative who has openly feared the effects of liberal politics. His outdated viewpoints have drawn backlash in the past.

Rick co-founded the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop with his father, Richard Harrison, who has since passed away. The store originally opened in 1989, and the popularity of the show Pawn Stars (launched in 2009) raised from a small company to an iconic and seemingly profitable company. Since the show’s premiere, the fascinating but scandal-prone Rick has established himself as a pawnshop superstar. His interactions with customers are usually very entertaining.

His willingness to negotiate and his relationship with then-colleagues Richard Harrison Sr., Corey Harrison and Austin Lee “Chumlee” Russell made the series dynamic, entertaining and exciting. After his father’s death, Rick left the show. Throughout his stint, Rick attracted a lot of fans – they were probably curious about what kind of oddity he would be presented with next. Rick is known for his gentle nature and calm nature, but there have been several such incidents he shouted to those around him. Notorious bad boy Chumlee and Rick in particular got into some dramatic arguments. In one episode, when Chumlee bought a vintage vending machine and restored it to match his brand, Chumlee’s Candy, Rick was at his wits end. Rick was not involved in the purchase and was upset when he found the heavy machinery in the store. Rick told Chumlee, “I’m just tired of the madness”, before going out.

Although Rick is generally good-natured, a lawsuit dating back to 2012 raised red flags. In a report written by New York PostA disabled Vietnam veteran sued Rick and his father for alleged physical assault. Daniel Callahan, who was injured, sought $20,000 in damages. According to Daniel, he went in with a Model 96B rifle, but negotiations escalated until they got Daniel “blocked, dragged him through the store and threw him on the sidewalk.” He claimed the rifle (and his cane) were damaged in the process. The results of the trial were not made public.

Rick has been very transparent in discussing his view of liberal thought. In an interview with CNNRick claimed his support for politician Marco Rubio could lead to a recall Pawn Stars. She also expressed concern about trans women using women’s bathrooms. Believing that looser regulations could lead non-trans men to cross-dress and then attack women, Rick expressed disdain:

“these massive liberal PC police”

and his opinions might ruffle some feathers. Nevertheless, Rick assured the audience that he remains true to his faith.

Rick had many romantic relationships

Rick has been involved with several women in the past. His romantic history is checkered, as Rick divorced three ex-wives. Rick’s first ex-wife, Kim Harrison, met and divorced him long before his reality TV fame, making their relationship somewhat mysterious. His next marriage to Tracy Harrison lasted 25 years. By Confuseshe helped out at the pawn shop and even brought in outside clients, especially from the trans community. The couple divorced in 2011. His most recent wife, Deanna Burditt, and Rick divorced in 2020 because they could not get along.

Rick is now in a relationship with Angie Polushkin. His latest girlfriend is a nurse who specializes in injections and is 18 years his junior. The couple celebrated their birthday in Europe Rick share several photos of the trip on Instagram.

Rick, although not starring Pawn Stars right nowwill always be fondly remembered for his sly offers and catchphrases: “the best i can do.” His charismatic personality is attractive, but his questionable political opinions, negative interactions with co-workers, and many ex-wives raise eyebrows. Rick has been involved in some scandals, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t popular. However, if he continues, he may lose his social media followers or worse.
