The Married at first sight season 18 experts have been hands off this season with all the couples falling apart so what’s the reason for that? Three experts, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Rev. Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec have formed the panel together since then. MAFS season 15 in San Diego. Dr. Pepper has been an expert since season 1, while Reverend Cal joined in season 4. Dr. Pia, the newest expert, joined season 15 along with season one expert, DeVon Franklin.

Dr. Pepper and Reverend Cal have appeared together in therapy sessions with couples more often in recent seasons, while Dr. Pia has counseled couples alone. Doctor Pia has received the most screen time as an expert this season. Married at first sight season 18 is quickly unraveling as most of the couples don’t hook up, and one even broke up on the heels of a month’s birthday. Given the clear breakdown, it’s strange that experts aren’t doing more to get couples back on track.

Not every MAFS season 18 couple gets the expert support they need

Every couple in season 18 struggles

Married at first sight season 18 couple David Trimble and Michelle Tomblin started their problems as soon as they said I would. When David revealed that he was a smoker who lived in his parents’ basement, Michelle was turned off and overwhelmed, and she hasn’t been able to shake it off. Their new marriage took a turn for the worse on their honeymoon when their communication broke down the experts did not intervene to mitigate the situationwhich causes more problems between David and Michelle.

Karla Juarez’s passive-aggressiveness has taken over because experts haven’t done enough to curb her attitude, which pushes her husband Juan Franco away. Furthermore, the experts do nothing to encourage Juan’s missing spark, and he and Karla grow further apart. The experts also give Camille Parsons a rude jab at her husband Thomas’ styleas he has eagerly criticized that he has no swag.

Experts are not taking a stand on the fact that Madison Myers is not interested in her husband Allen Slovicki. Madison is going through the motions and playing the role, but it doesn’t look like he has any intention of getting to the next level with Allen, and the pundits are missing this huge one. Ikechi Ojoré has been insulting his wife Emem Obot throughout the experience and instead of protecting Emem, Dr. Pia forced her to apologize to Ikechi for being herself.

“I came here just being who I am and it was too much for you and I can hear it now.”

    Why are MAFS experts immediate?

Are they letting the drama play out on purpose?

    Cesar Garcia’s own photo

Clear purpose MAFS season 18 experts have a purpose.

It seems like the production is aiming for more drama for a higher entertainment value, but it comes at the expense of the couples.

Doubting couples need the guidance promised to them in the experience. Without it, matches suffer needlessly due to the aloofness of experts and removed help, and are left to sort out their huge problems on their own.

Are the experts more involved in the rest of the process?

    Scandals get experts involved

The Married at first sight The experts have no choice but to be more involved in the second half of season 18 as two scandals rock the show. A cheating scandal and a change of couples threaten, and through @mafsfanexperts have opinions and must be present to survive the chaos. However, the late presence of experts at the show is too little too late.

The couples have needed a lot of care, attention and counseling in the early stages of the process. Now, because matches haven’t gotten the professional help they need, many of them have a grudge against their partner that’s hard to get over. The Married at first sight Specialists only see couples once a week. The only other ability they’ve been helpful in is sending Gift baskets with prompts, which is an embarrassingly inadequate gesture.

Married at first sight airs Tuesdays at 8pm EST on Lifetime.

    The changes have been saved

Based on the Danish version of the series, Married at First Sight is a reality show/social experiment that gives singles the chance to find a lifelong partnership with one caveat: they must agree to marry a stranger the moment they meet. Experts provide advice and guidance as they help couples navigate their new marriage with an unknown partner, highlighting the newlyweds’ journey from wedding to honeymoon to starting their new life together. After eight weeks, couples decide to stay married or divorce.
