The true beauty of Brighton Fringe is that you will never know what you see. You put faith in a brochure, a poster, or sometimes in the venue you love and just go with it. So it is really magical when the stars are targeted and finally you see something that takes breath. The presentation that is so good that you had to talk about it for hours after the lights were lowered. And it’s still the first 2025 Fringe show – a great start!
Joan’s musical Sender Melanie Bell and Hannah Doyle are a profitable story of a woman’s weakening trust and her discovery journey. The story of despair and sadness followed by joy and karma. Sequins, hot pink leggings, squat and box breath. Everything is set amazing to the original musical score.
We meet 72 -year -old Joan, who will be a glittering West End dancer in many years, has long disappeared; Although his former husband further crushed his confidence in their habits. She is once a enchanting and miserable woman’s shell she was, which she was seriously lacking in self -love and self -evidence.
We follow Joan as he circles a wonderful dream of a miraculous musical heat that comes face to face. A place where he questions his value, respect and validation. And where he begins to find himself a journey to remind that, regardless of age, previous career and broken marriage, he is still a powerful goddess.
We soaked every minute Joan’s musical. It had a lot of laughter for loud moments and a couple as our eyes blurred little. The actor was genuine and interesting when the songs were sung beautifully, a note.
When we always left the Brilliant actress theater, we heard some audience say “What a woman“. We couldn’t agree more. Joan is a woman that we all can join – perhaps because we have little to him.
