A trenchcoat from Boden is proving a colourful addition to shoppers’ autumnal wardrobes. The Cheltenham Trench Coat was originally £359, but is now down to £179.50 at Boden, and you can get the brown version for £130 at Next. At Boden, the coat comes in petite and regular fits, with sizes four through to 22 available. The bright coat is cut to a straight fit and is designed to fall below the knee.
The coat has functional pockets, a detachable belt, and double-breasted fastening. It’s made in bright pink and purple, marking a stark contrast to the usual light brown trenchcoats on the high street. Boden says: “Our Cheltenham trench coat has everything you’d expect (a double-breasted front, a waist-cinching belt and pockets), and, in signature Boden style, we’ve added a vibrant twist.”
Alternatively, there’s the RO&ZO Houndstooth Double-Breasted Wool-Blend Trench Coat for £249 at Selfridges. The trenchcoat has an all-over houndstooth pattern.

Back at Boden, the Cheltenham coat has 4.6 stars from 47 reviews. One person said: “Ordered the 12 petite. It was perfect- enough room to wear over a jacket or jumper. Looks fab with dresses or jeans. Definitely cheers you up on a rainy day!”
Another wrote: “Bought this in the pink check and it is one to stand out in a crowd – but I love it. Beautifully made, lots of interior buttons to help with the shaping, and I love the belt which has holes so it won’t slip.
