Fairgame St Pauls: The new night out you have to try

I had seen the buzz when their Canary Wharf spot opened and I went along imagining it would be a one-off kind of night: a novelty, good for a laugh.

But walking into their brand new St Paul’s venue, I realised very quickly this was something else entirely.

From the moment I spotted the giant rotating duck outside One New Change, I knew I was in for a different kind of night out.

Inside, it is a neon playground filled with flashing lights, music that makes you want to move, and a contagious sense of excitement that hits before you have even played a single game.

We jumped straight into the games and it was impossible not to get swept along.

Beaky Finders, billed as the world’s largest indoor hook a duck, was ridiculous in the best way and had us laughing harder than we had in ages as we frantically scooped ducks under pressure.

The live leaderboards made it even more competitive, with my parnter and I determined to see who could get the highest score.

Ninety minutes disappeared in what felt like half the time and we all agreed we would happily have gone round again.

But what really surprised me was the food.

Here it was the complete opposite.

The food was outstanding, genuinely some of the best I have had on a night out in the city.

The highlight was the double bacon burger from Burger and Beyond.

Juicy, smoky, perfectly stacked and indulgent without being overwhelming, it was hands down one of the best burgers I have ever had in London.

We also tried a shawarma from Le Bab, and every bite was just as impressive.

It felt like carefully curated street food rather than filler, and it elevated the whole experience.

Drinks followed the same standard, with cocktails that were playful and creative without sliding into gimmick territory.

By the end of the night I felt like I had ticked every box.

I had laughed until my stomach hurt, I had eaten and drunk far better than I expected, and I had spent the evening in a setting unlike anywhere else in London.

Stepping back out to the sight of St Paul’s Cathedral after all that fun made the whole thing feel surreal in the best way.

Fairgame St Paul’s is not just a great night out.

It is the night out I will be recommending to everyone I know.

We went in curious and came out completely converted.

And honestly, I cannot wait to go back.
