The bash, hosted by Flight Club to celebrate its 10th birthday, is set to take place at Clerkenwell Fire Station on October 1 and October 2, from 12pm until 10pm.
The celebrations, which will take place in other cities across the UK, aim to support 21 local and national charities, including Hackney Quest, MediCinema, and the Ben Kinsella Trust.
In-keeping with the fire station theme, the Flight Club crew will be setting off in a thirty-year-old fire engine.
This particular fire engine has a significant connection to the origins of the company.
A fundraising expedition in the same fire engine in 2010 was the beginning of Flight Club, with co-founders Steve and Paul and a group of friends travelling the world in it.
They completed the journey in memory of Steve’s father, who was a firefighter for 33 years.
The adventure raised £120,000 for three charities—Macmillan Cancer Support, The Fire Fighters Charity, and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation—and won a Guinness World Record.
This journey taught the team the skills needed to launch an innovative business, leading to the first Flight Club opening in Shoreditch five years later.
Fast forward to 10 years later, Flight Club now has 28 venues globally, and more are expected to open.
The same fire engine, cheekily named “Martha,” will come out of retirement for the special 10th birthday tour that’s aiming to raise a whopping £250,000 in total.
The events at Clerkenwell Fire Station promise DJs, street food, spinning of the prize wheel and a thrilling challenge to hit the longest bullseye for a chance to win a £1,000 bar tab.
Adding to the excitement, the Mayor of Islington will grace the event to officially declare the party open.
All sales from the day will go to the Flight Club Charitable Foundation that supports several causes, including community projects and healthcare interventions like hospital cinema screenings.
Everyone is invited to join this celebration of ten years of social darts, with a bonus good deed attached.
The party is a timely reminder of how far a simple fundraising trip can go in making a significant difference in the lives of many people.
