Harry’s Kings Cross: The new restaurant and terrace review

As someone who regularly finds themselves weaving through the madness of King’s Cross, either heading home after work or meeting friends en route to visit family in Leeds, I’m always on the lookout for spots that strike the right balance between convenience and quality.

The newly opened Harry’s in King’s Cross nails that brief, and then some – especially with its terrace that lets you people watch to your heart’s content.

Perched on a stunning terrace just moments from the station, it’s a rare find in such a fast-paced area: stylish without being pretentious, buzzy but not overwhelming, and designed with commuters in mind.

Whether you’ve got luggage in tow or you’re simply in need of a quick yet memorable dinner, it feels like an effortless choice.

(Image: Harry’s) We arrived for lunch on a Sunday and were lucky enough to be seated outside as the London weather allowed for it.

The terrace is genuinely lovely – elevated above the street, softly lit, and framed with greenery.

It has the feel of a little escape in the middle of the city, with just enough movement around to remind you you’re in London.

To start, we shared two dishes that set the tone for the rest of the meal.

The tuna pizza surprised me – in a good way. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was light, crisp, and generously topped without being overpowering.

The starters in Harry’s (Image: Immy Share, Newsquest) Alongside it, the burrata and tomato was everything you want it to be: creamy, cool, and paired with beautifully ripe, flavour-packed tomatoes. Simple, but executed perfectly.

For the main course, I had the tuna steak, which was grilled to just the right level of doneness – a crisp sear on the outside with that delicate, pink centre.

It was served with tenderstem broccoli and chips, which made for a nice balance of light and hearty.

My friend went for the truffled chicken, which arrived rich, aromatic, and totally satisfying – he said it was the kind of dish that leaves you wanting just one more bite, even when you’re full.

We ended the meal with the Harry’s Gondola, which feels like something of a signature dessert. It’s a joyful, over-the-top platter of mini desserts made for sharing – and for a bit of theatre at the table.

Think profiteroles, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and more, each one more tempting than the last.

Overall, Harry’s King’s Cross is a welcome addition to the area, perfect for commuters, casual dinners, or anyone in search of a reliably good meal with a great atmosphere.

I’ll definitely be returning – next time, hopefully, with time for more cocktails on that dreamy terrace.
