The last Karen diner in the UK closes its doors at the end of June, which means the end of two years.
The White Lion Street place in Islington, London, which is used under the Franchising Agreement, closes after a decision made earlier this year so that the lease will not be renewed.
Karen’s diner became famous for his rude staff, and the Virus -Titok play shows waiters playfully offensive customers who collect millions of views.
In his statement, Karen’s diner stated that it had “enjoyed its thousands of customers”, but mentioned the “extra burden”, including business prices, the reason for closing its final London location.
The closure follows the liquidation of Karen Diner’s parent company, Viral Ventures UK LTD last year.
The statement of the franchise owner said, “People do not understand how difficult it is to have a restaurant and theater at the same time, especially in such tough commerce conditions.”
The Karen Diner brand spokesman added: “We would like to thank the restaurant manager and his entire team for all their hard work offering a great day of entertainment afternoon.”
Karen’s dining room launched in Sydney, Australia, in 2021 with the theme Viral Ventures Global and expanded to the UK in 2022 with its first restaurants in Sheffield, Manchester and Birmingham.
The brand continued to grow rapidly until 2023, opening additional seats in Islington and Barnet and Brighton in London.
The Brighton branch was closed in March last year after police found cocaine traces in the toilet, including on a baby exchange table.
Karen’s Dublin dining room seems to be the brand’s last Restaurant in the UK and Ireland.
According to Karen, it has moved out of permanent places to focus on pop-up events and is currently looking for venues in Southern England.
