This November, the time has come to once again marvel at its festive makeover, as Leadenhall Market is set to illuminate its Christmas lights on November 13. Naturally, they’ll be celebrating with a switch-on event, and the new Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley DBE, will be on hand to flip the switch.
This will mark the start of the festive season in the centre of London, with a whole host of Christmas events set to take over the building. The Leadenhall Market Christmas calendar will include everything from live music to Christmas markets and Christmas guided walks.
But that’s not all; to truly add some magic to the area, they’re promising twice-daily snowfall. That’s right – you can depend on seeing snow in at least one London location this winter! Snow will fall on Leadenhall Market’s cobbled, covered walkways at 12pm and 6pm each day.
The Leadenhall Market Christmas tree
Each year, Leadenhall Market unveils a jaw-dropping Christmas tree that almost manages to dwarf its own aesthetic surroundings. And 2025 is set to be no different.
Standing a whopping 18 feet tallthe impressive (and real!) tree will take centre stage as part of the building’s festive makeover. Underneath Leadenhall Market’s starry ceiling, the tree will glitter and twinkle with baubles and lights. Meanwhile, the Victorian market’s shopfronts will also be decked out with fir tree garlands and festive decor.
So, if you’re looking for an escape from the hubbub of the city this winter, pop in to Leadenhall Market. You won’t want to leave!
